LORETO HIGH SCHOOL

St John’s is proud to be one of the feeder schools for Loreto High School, and we work closely with the team there to make sure transition is smooth, supportive and positive for every child when they move onto secondary school. Pupils on the transition list are invited to take part in a number of joint activities, including the Loreto Easter Holiday Club.

Throughout Year 5 there are lots of activities to get involved in including the Poetry Festival, Science club, annual sporting events and opportunities to watch productions at the high school.

LORETO GRAMMAR & ST AMBROSE GRAMMAR

At St John’s, we are very proud of our strong links with Catholic secondary education and the support we provide to families as children prepare for the next stage of their education. Loreto Grammar School, Altrincham for girls and St Ambrose College, Hale Barns for boys are also feeder schools for St John’s, and a number of our pupils move on to continue their Catholic education at these schools.

Loreto Grammar is an 11–18 Catholic school for girls, while St Ambrose College provides Catholic secondary education for boys.

During the Summer Term, families will have an opportunity to meet and speak with the Headteachers of both schools here at St John’s. We hope this will give parents and carers the chance to learn more about each school, their Catholic ethos, admissions arrangements and what they can offer our pupils as they move into Year 7. Families considering either school are encouraged to keep a close eye on their websites for information about Open Days, admissions arrangements and key dates.
