PASTORAL SUPPORT
At St John's, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and happy at school. Our dedicated Pastoral Support Manager, Mrs Marsden, is here to provide a caring and confidential space for children, families, and staff alike. Whether you have a concern about your child's wellbeing, need a little advice, or simply want someone to talk to, Mrs Marsden and the pastoral team are ready to listen and support you every step of the way. From helping children navigate friendships and emotions, to signposting families to wider services when needed, pastoral care is at the heart of everything we do here at St John's.
If you have a concern, we would always encourage you to speak to your child's class teacher in the first instance, as they know your child well and are best placed to help with day-to-day matters. Mrs Marsden works closely alongside class teachers to ensure every child receives the right support at the right time. You will also be able to speak to Mrs Marsden on the Ryebnk gate each morning.
If you would like to get in touch directly, you can email pastoral@stjohnsrc.net and Mrs Marsden will get back to you as soon as possible.
GUIDANCE ON SCREEN TIME
At St. John's we are pleased to be working with Place2Be counsellors. The Place2Be helps build children's confidence and self-esteem, enabling them to cope with difficult life events, establish friendships and focus in class. This in turn makes school a happier place to be for all the children and school staff.
They also work with parents and have produced some useful guides for families on how to deal with difficult situations at home.
